Beauty DIY : natural hair moisturizing mask

For a few months now, I’ve been trying to remove from my bathroom all the chemical cosmetic products that were there, with the idea to only use natural, raw products as I would do in the kitchen, to avoid processed and industrial products. Because if what we eat has influence on the heath, what we put on our skin has one too, the negative impacts of chemical cosmetic products are nastier that what people usually think.

In another post, I will talk about what kind of products I am now using, but today I wanted to share his natural, home-made hair mask.

Being in Bali, I can only be jealous of Balinese girls lustrous and thick hair, with the secret hope to have the same. But the burning sun, salted ocean water and motorbike helmet are not helping, my hair is not that great. Thanks to this  very efficient mask, I manage to keep my hair shiny and soft. Aloe vera moisture it deeply, coconut oil nourish it and yogurt brings the proteins that keratin needs.

  • Ingredients (quantities should be adapted to your hair’s length) :

– 3 tablespoons aloe vera gel (directly taken from the plant if possible, or you can buy it and choose one with the mention « native gel » which means that the gel has not been processed at all)

– 2 TB coconut oil (better if it’s organic and cold-pressed)

– 2 TB plain yogurt

  • Directions :

In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients and spread on your hair, insisting on the ends.

Keep between 30 min and 1h, then wash your hair as usual, you might need to shampoo it twice, so to get rid of all the coconut oil.

Use this mask once a week to keep your hair healthy and hydrated. If you have left-over, you can keep it in the fridge for one or two days, if you want to use it again, but you might throw it away after this delay, that’s why it’s important to adapt the quantities so not to waste it.

Would you like to try this mask ? What products do you use for your hair ?
