About to go to (almost) desert islands : Moluccas archipelago

In a few days, I will jump again on a plane for 10 days on what we could call desert and wild islands, the archipelago of Moluccas.

These islands located in North-East Indonesia look like tiny pieces of sand lost in the Indian ocean, but they were actually quite famous during Colonisation because these islands were producing spices, and it was a profitable market at the time for the Dutch. Nowadays, this market is less profitable and the Moluccas islands are flowing happy days far away from the world, at least that what I think now, maybe I will be surprised by what I see once there !

So, for my 3rd Christmas in the tropics, first time was in New Caledonia, 2nd time in Bali, now let’s go to these mysterious islands where I hope to find something preserved, quite wild, where I could maybe get the feeling that nobody before (or at least not so many people) has step a foot here before me.

It’s time for a big adventure, we will land on Ambon island, where the main airport is located, and then we are still hesitating between Kei islands and Seram island, depending on the transports and weather, maybe we can improvise once there.

Let’s keep in touch on Instagram to follow my journey there and of course here on the blog when I am back for more adventures !
